Bathwater Blues

.

Go back to the silence
The silence between the sounds
They say
.

So many sounds
So many egos making sounds
The air struggles to hold them all
They tangle, droop down
Rats’ nests of sound-laden molecules
Dangling from waves like plugs on chains
Radio waves, microwaves
Thieves of peace
Refractors of paths
Devils, angels, spiders and flies
.

Hush little baby, don’t you cry
Everything’s gonna be OK
They say
.

Oh those pedestrian Theys and their anesthetizing clichés. Most definitely both bear scrutiny, a fact the baby can attest to on the way out with the bath water, albeit too late! Too late, too soon… I will you peace, dearest Jae. Indeed it should sandwich sound and not the other way around : )

It looks as though baby has been thrown out with the bath water in the illustration! Those thieves of peace are all around us.

Hi Robyn, I hope so, too! Certainly it’s safe to say everything will be OK, for truly whatever happens will be considered OK by some one(s) of the world’s population! Perspective is a funny thing : )

We are bombarded by noise from everywhere and every angle. You have captured it so well in this piece. We must search out the small segments of silence when we can.

Absolutely, Belva Rae, we must, it’s up to us to see the opportunity and to make good use of it! Be like a cat watching a mouse hole, They say : )
